LYHYT — Short URL Service

LYHYT was a free URL shortening service I created using PHP and MySQL. It was designed to make long URLs easier to shorten, copy, and share through a simple and lightweight interface.

The service included automatic link expiration, usage limits, human verification, blocked-domain protection, and tools for reporting problematic links. Existing shortened links remained accessible even when new URL creation was temporarily disabled through maintenance mode.

LYHYT also had a complete administration panel for managing shortened URLs, blocked domains and IP addresses, service settings, statistics, anti-spam controls, and other maintenance tasks.

The project gave me practical experience in building a complete public web service, including database management, security controls, URL redirection, administration tools, statistics, and responsive interface design.
